There are loads of exciting new cars releasing in 2022. Many car manufacturers are updating beloved models with brand new touches of style, as well as offering more and more hybrid powertrains.
Read our guide on new Motability cars coming in 2022 to find out models that we expect to land on the scheme. If you want more information about available cars on the scheme, or have any queries about the scheme itself, get in contact with your local Pentagon dealership or call us on 0330 390 6886.
All manufacturers are experiencing a delay in supplying new cars. This may mean that some all-new models are likely to join the Motability scheme a bit later than usual. But there are still plenty of makes and models to choose from when it comes to securing a Motability car in 2022.
We're put together a list of what we think are some of the most likely upcoming new cars on the Motability Scheme in 2022. There's a massive selection of electric and hybrid cars with manufacturers working hard to meet government emission rules.
At the time of writing, there’s only one Dacia car available on the Motability scheme - the new Dacia Duster. There are a fair few new models coming out in 2022 with a good likelihood of these Dacia cars being rolled out to Motability in 2022.
As one of the most affordable cars on the market, the new 2022 Dacia Sandero is likely to cost less than your mobility allowance. But that’s not the only exciting thing about the 2022 Dacia Sandero potentially coming to Motability.
It’s a great everyday runner, available as the Sandero Hatch and Sandero Stepway with added roof rails. This new model has an updated range of punchier engines, making it even more of a joy to drive.
The 2022 Dacia Sandero is already available to order and may come to Motability sometime in 2022.
Another exciting model that we expect to see on the scheme - the new 2022 Dacia Spring EV. It’s touted as one of the most affordable electric cars on the market, currently only available in Europe. But the brand is still strongly considering bringing this super low-cost EV to the UK. Although we’re still waiting on a decision that should be announced by the end of 2021.
Performance figures:
Release date TBA - although currently available in mainland Europe.
Another new Dacia model. Another best-in-class price. The new 2022 Dacia Jogger is slated to be the most affordable seven-seater when it releases. Not a massive surprise as Dacia’s main pull is pure affordability! Any Dacia model on Motability is a smart choice.
The new Dacia Jogger offers the length of an estate, the spacious practicality of an MPV and the looks of a stylish SUV. There’s space to seat up to seven adults, with 60 different seating configurations available.
2022, month TBA.
Ford cars are always a popular choice on Motability. Due to the delay in new car lead times, the Ford Fiesta was removed from Motability at the end of 2021. But once the all-new facelifted Fiesta is available, it’s likely to return to Motability.
The new shape Ford Fiesta is already available to order from new, with deliveries starting in February 2022. It may not launch on Motability as soon as it arrives, but it should be available sometime after.
It has the same dynamic yet accessible drive the Fiesta is known for, but with updated style and new tech. This includes a new front end with a dropped Ford badge now sitting on the grille, all-new headlights and a newly angled nose.
Ford Fiesta 2022 deliveries start from February 2022, but it’s available to order from new right now.
Kia cars are another great choice on Motability, filled with the latest tech and using a range of hybrid powertrains.
The Sportage is on the scheme at the time of writing, so it makes sense for Kia to bring the updated model when it goes live. The new 2022 Kia Sportage is expected to release right at the end of 2021 or at the very start of 2022.
Hybrid choices are always strong with Kia, with mild, full and plug-in usually available. Choosing a hybrid engine is a great way to cut costs and increase mileage.
Late 2021 / early 2022.
With four Nissan cars available in Q4 2021, there could be at least one popular model added to the scheme in 2022.
We have a next-gen 2022 Nissan X-Trail incoming soon. It’s a large SUV that’s about the same size as the Peugeot 5008 and SEAT Terraco, with seven seats and ample space. Hybrid powertrains will only make this even more desirable, giving this massive model capable mileage.
The 2022 X-Trail will follow in the footsteps of the all-new Qashqai and Juke, with refreshed details and premium touches. It’ll be a strong contender in the large SUV segment and a popular choice on Motability.

2022, month TBA.
Peugeot always has a strong Motability offering with plenty of models and engines to choose from. There’s one model that’s missing that may be added in 2022.
Following the latest design language from Peugeot, the new 2022 308 is a stunner. And it’s likely to land on Motability sometime next year. Its tight handling and driver convenience blend perfectly to make a great everyday runner with added charm.
New details include striking vertical daytime running lights, a bold dropped grille, an updated Peugeot badge recentred on the grille and more.

The new 308 is available to order from new now, with deliveries starting December 2021. Motability inclusion TBA.
Vauxhall offers a serious selection of practical cars on the scheme with a fair few of the key offerings being updated in time for Motability in 2022.
The new 2022 Vauxhall Astra is a beautiful car that uses the brand’s new Vizor front end design. It’s expected to release fully in early 2022, making it a strong candidate for the Motability scheme.
It’s been treated to a full shape refresh and cutting-edge details. It’s a sleek, super-modern looking car. And there’ll be an electric version too, but the EV is more likely to drop on the scheme in 2023 rather than 2022.
