Vauxhall Personal Contract Purchase Agreement (PCP)
Getting a Vauxhall car on Personal Contract Purchase is a popular choice. With PCP you get lower monthly payments with the option to buy the car at the end, with your choice of loan term, annual mileage and initial deposit.
How does Vauxhall PCP finance work?
With PCP, you put down a deposit then pay monthly payments for the duration of your agreement. When your term ends, you can choose to give it back or pay a final balloon payment and keep the car.
PCP pays for the loss in value of a car over the course of the agreement, rather than paying for the full value of the car. This means that your fixed monthly payments are lower than other types of finance and you don’t have to worry about your Vauxhall car depreciating over the course of your agreement.

Vauxhall PCP finance has many benefits, including affordable monthly payments, flexibility and choice of ownership at the end.

Affordable
One of the main draws is that PCP offers lower monthly payments. This is due to the price being based on the depreciation of your Vauxhall’s value, rather than its actual full value.
And if you want even lower monthly payments, you can put down a larger deposit.

Flexible
You can customise your PCP agreement to suit your needs. It’s one of the more flexible types of Vauxhall finance. When it comes to the deposit, you usually put down 10% although deposits can be as low as £0.
But if you want, you can put down more which in turn reduces your monthly payments. You can choose the duration of the loan too, typically between two and five years. Lastly, you can set your own yearly mileage cap, often from 5,000 to 30,000 miles a year. This again affects monthly payments.

Optional balloon payment
Another way that PCP offers flexibility is through the balloon payment at the end, giving you the option to own the car or not. If you want to own the car, simply pay the balloon payment and it’s yours!
Your two other options are to return the car and end the agreement, or to use any positive equity that you have in your as a deposit for your next PCP agreement. You even have the option to refinance the balloon payment too, but this option may not be available with all finance providers.

Vauxhall Hire Purchase (HP)
Getting a car through Hire Purchase, or HP, is another popular type of finance. Monthly payments may be higher than PCP, but you get an affordable option-to-buy fee at the end with no annual mileage caps, so you won’t be hit with any fees at the end of the agreement.
How does Vauxhall HP finance work?
With Vauxhall Hire Purchase, you also put down a deposit with monthly payments. But with HP, you’re covering the full value of your Vauxhall car and you own it at the end of your agreement.
Initial deposits for HP are usually around 10% of the full value of your car, with the rest being paid off monthly. Depending on how much you want to pay a month, Vauxhall Hire Purchase contracts tend to last anywhere from one to five years.
