A Personal Contract Purchase (or PCP) agreement is a popular way of financing your car. You put down a deposit and pay monthly for a Peugeot car with the option to buy it at the end. You set the loan term, annual mileage and deposit for maximum flexibility.
You put down a deposit and then pay monthly for the duration of the Peugeot PCP deal. Once you reach the end of the loan term, you have the option to hand the car back or purchase it by paying the balloon payment.
Your monthly payments go towards covering the depreciation of the car during your agreement, rather than paying for the value of the car. This is what makes the monthly payments more affordable.
There are three main benefits when it comes to Peugeot PCP: lower monthly costs, flexibility and the option to own.
The monthly payments on a Peugeot PCP deal are typically lower when compared to other types of finance. This is because you’re covering the car’s depreciation, based on market value and annual mileage. And you can even put down a larger deposit to cut down monthly costs even more.
PCP agreements are flexible, meaning you can tweak the terms to suit you. Your deposit is usually around 10% but you can put down more to reduce monthly payments. You also get to choose:
Both of these will affect your monthly payments too.
At the end of your PCP agreement, you just need to pay the final balloon payment if you want to own the car. If you don’t want to own it, you can hand it back and get yourself another finance deal. If there’s any positive equity left in your car, then you can hand it back as a deposit on your next PCP deal at Pentagon.
Peugeot cars on HP work similar to PCP: you put down a deposit and then pay monthly. But the main differences are that you’re covering the value of the car, there’s a small Option to Purchase fee at the end of the agreement and there’s no mileage cap.
HP works very similarly to PCP in that you put down a deposit and pay monthly. But as you’re paying for the car’s value, the Option to Purchase fee is smaller compared to PCP balloon payments.
The initial deposit is typically around 10% of the car’s total value and your monthly payments cover the rest of the car. Then at the end of your agreement (which can last from one to five years), there’s an affordable Option to Purchase fee which gives you ownership.
Choose Peugeot HP for no mileage cap, a small Option to Purchase fee and fixed rates through your whole agreement.
There are no limits when it comes to your annual mileage. You can drive as much as you need without any extra charge. This is because you’re paying for the car’s value, unlike PCP where you’re paying for its loss in value which is affected by mileage.
When you reach the end of your Peugeot HP agreement there’s a final payment before you fully own your car. This is the Option to Purchase fee, which usually totals around £100-£200 although it can vary. Pay this, and the car is yours.
How much you pay monthly is fixed through your HP deal so you always know exactly how much you’re paying. This makes monthly budgeting much easier.
Personal Contract Hire (PCH) is a lease - getting you the keys to the latest vehicles with lower monthly payments. As it’s a lease you don't own the car, but you do get a brand new model every few years. There’s even the option to include maintenance as part of your monthly payments so you don’t ever have to worry about the cost of regular servicing.
PCH is a great choice if you’re after the latest models with low monthly payments and don't want to own the car. Payments tend to be lower when compared to the monthly costs of similar cars on PCP or HP.
You pay monthly for a brand new Peugeot car with your choice of servicing and maintenance included.
Then at the end of your lease, you give the car back and choose your next model with no option to buy at the end.
PCH may appeal to you if you’re after the latest Peugeot vehicles with fixed-rate payments and the option to include servicing.
PCH secures the keys to a brand new car. Then at the end of your lease, you hand it back and choose the next one. Monthly payments go further with PCH compared to PCP and HP, so you can go for a higher spec model than you may be able to otherwise. And you’re backed up by Peugeot’s warranties too.
Your monthly payments are secured throughout your PCH agreement so you always pay the same each month. And it’s unaffected by interest rate changes too.
For worry-free driving, you can include servicing and maintenance costs in your monthly payments. So when it’s time to book your Peugeot car in, the cost is already taken care of. Perfect for peace of mind driving.
