PENTAGON ADDS RENAULT AND DACIA AT ROCHDALE
Pentagon Motor Group, which has already taken additional Ford, Vauxhall, SEAT and Peugeot locations into its operations over the last 20 months, has now added the Renault franchise and an accompanying Dacia franchise to its Rochdale site. Currently home to a Vauxhall Authorised Repairer franchise, one of Pentagon’s 11 Vauxhall dealerships, Rochdale retains that Vauxhall role but now runs Renault and Dacia car sales and service support alongside it. The Group’s nearby site at Middleton takes on the Renault Van side of the franchise.
Speaking for Pentagon, managing director, David Lewis, said, “We have a clear strategy of focussing our efforts on the major marques in the UK market, and with room to add a quality brand such as Renault alongside our established Vauxhall business in Rochdale, with the Dacia brand alongside it, this was a good fit. The addition of the Renault Van operation at our Middleton branch is another strong benefit.”
The sites went live with the Renault brand at the start of the week, 26th April. As there was no Renault or Dacia franchise previously in the immediate area, this is not a dealership take-over but a rebranding at an established site. The manning of the new operation, therefore, is being handled through existing Pentagon Motor Group team members, with full training and support on the new brands put into place prior to opening.
Pentagon Motor Group was established in March 1991 with just one Vauxhall dealership, based in Derby. Today, the business operates some 47 franchise outlets for major brands, from 23 sites across the East Midlands and North.
The company is part of Motus Group (UK) Ltd., a group that employs some 3000 people across its business, which, alongside 121 franchise outlets across 76 sites, incorporates seven passenger car and commercial vehicle body repair locations and two specialist truck body builders, as well as parts and commercial vehicle equipment operations.
