Pentagon 9th Biggest Contributor to Derbyshire Economy

Pentagon Motor Group is in the top 10 biggest contributors to the economy in Derbyshire for the second year running.

  • A league table created by the Derby Telegraph working in conjunction with the University of Derby has found that Pentagon Motor Group is in the top 10 biggest contributors to the Derbyshire economy for the second year in a row.
The league table uses publicly available information such as data from Companies House, to rank the top 200 companies  based  in Derbyshire to find which have been key in creating and supporting employment opportunities in the area.
Pentagon Motor Group was found to be in 10th place in the inaugural league table last year and has improved even more over the last year to climb up to 9th place. This comes after Motus Holdings (UK) Ltd acquired Pentagon in 2017 and shows the groups continued commitment to growth.

Jonathan Lingham, Head of Marketing at Pentagon, said, “We’re pleased to see that we are continuing to grow as a company and able to make such a notable contribution to the economy in difficult times. With our recent announcement that we will be opening another 3 dealerships in the north east, I’m confident we will be able to make an even bigger impression next year.”

Pentagon Motor Group began with a single Vauxhall dealership on Pentagon Island in Derby in 1991 and has since grown to represent 14 different manufacturers with 19 sites across the north and midlands of England. Today Pentagon employs over 1000 people and is a subsidiary of Motus after being purchased in 2017.
