The Ford Fiesta and Transit/Tourneo Custom are officially the first and second best-selling vehicles in the country respectively. Ford take both gold and silver in the most popular new vehicles chart for 2020, continuing the brand’s dominance on the UK roads.

Best selling passenger vehicle brand 2020
2020 was the 12th year in a row that the Fiesta topped the most popular new car, selling over 49,000!
Just since 2009, British drivers have purchased nearly 1.3 million new Ford Fiestas.

Ford also took first place as Britain’s best-selling passenger manufacturer in 2020. This is the 44th year in a row that Ford has produced the country’s most popular new car, an amazing feat! And with a 10.9% market share, Ford also led retail sales.
Even the brand new Ford Puma (only released in 2020!) tops the list of best-selling mini utility vehicles in Britain, selling almost 26,300 alone and placing 8th in the overall best-seller list. This a really strong performance for a brand new model, especially considering the uncertainty of the year.

55th year of commercial success
Ford also placed top in medium and light commercial vehicles sales for the 55th year in a row. And the Transit Custom / Tourneo Custom was the country’s second-most popular new vehicle overall, hitting almost 47,500 in 2020 alone!

This represents a record-breaking market share of 44.5% in the one-tonne medium commercial market. Ford almost hold the majority with two quality vans!
And the Ford Ranger saw it’s most successful year yet, picking up a strong 36.5% market share of pickup sales in the country.
