CUPRA is coming to Motability!

It’s official. CUPRA is joining the Motability scheme in 2023. The first Motability model available from the high-performance brand will be the CUPRA Born, a luxurious electric hatch.

This is a great sign of things to come as more luxurious brands get involved in Motability, with the addition of yet another modern EV to the available roster.

Expect the CUPRA Born to be available on the scheme from Q3, that’s July, August & September 2023. That’s just one month away!

There are three electric motors and three models available with the CUPRA Born.

Whilst there has been no official announcement of the Born’s trim and motor lineup, we can look to other VW group manufacturers for guidance.

Volkswagen for example, offer the ID.4 Life with either the standard motor or the Pure Performance setup. The Volkswagen ID.5. is only available as the Style model with the Pro powertrain.

This means it’s likely that the CUPRA Born on Motability will be available as the V1 base model. However, they may offer the V2 or even V3 but we’ll have to wait and see.

Battery options will most likely start with the base 58 kWh motor with 204PS, and may also include the e-boost version with 230PS like the ID.4 and ID.5 have. 

Even so, the CUPRA Born V1 is still extremely well equipped for a base model just like all CUPRA models. We delve into the details of what to expect across the Born model after answering some common CUPRA Motability questions below.

Is CUPRA available on Motability?

CUPRA is coming to Motability in 2023, most likely in Q3 July, August & September.

Is CUPRA Formentor on Motability?

Currently, there are no plans for the CUPRA Formentor on Motability. However, this may change so check back here next quarter.

Can I get a CUPRA on Motability?

Yes, from July 2023 you can get a CUPRA car on Motability - the fully electric Born.

The CUPRA Born is a high-spec electric car that’s packed with the latest technology. Even the entry-level V1 trim is well-equipped.

As mentioned above, the V1 is most likely to be available on Motability. Although it’s entirely possible that the V2 or even V3 will be on the scheme.

There are three electric motor setups available in the CUPRA Born. the V1 is only available with the standard motor.

CUPRA is a relatively new brand. Before 2018, CUPRA cars were high-performance versions of SEAT models. E.g. SEAT Leon CUPRA, SEAT Ateca CUPRA.

In 2018, CUPRA split away from SEAT to form its own brand, with its own lineup of vehicles.

You can now get CUPRA-only cars, including the Born and Formentor. These models are instantly recognisable with a bold, bronze CUPRA badge and next-level details.

CUPRA cars are high-end, luxurious and powerful. There’s the sleek Formentor with SUV underpinnings and next-level comfort, or the hot-hatch CUPRA Leon.
