Citroën Introduces Incredible DS 5LS

Citroën has recently unveiled the latest addition to their popular DS line called the DS 5LS. The car is set to play a crucial part in the expansion of the brand, offering customers an even wider selection of comfortable and stylish saloon models.

• Citroën is starting the New Year off with a bang by introducing the latest addition to the DS line called the DS 5LS at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris.

  The elegant vehicle takes its styling from the popular DS range as well as the Numero 9 and Wild Rubis concept cars. Here, the designers meticulously sculpted the grille to fit perfectly amongst the boomerang-shaped Daytime Running Lights that Citroën calls its ‘DS wings.’ Similarly, the car has been given chrome side trim that traces a subtle shark fin shape across the car. This ensures that the car creates a dynamic and distinctive look unlike any other, pushing the design limitations even further.

  This attention to detail is carried forward inside the car where the driver is greeted with a flurry of luxury materials. While the highly polished metals and woods make this vehicle a truly magnificent find, the most notable of these materials are the high quality leather fittings, highlighted by the watchstrap designs of the seats, which ensure a pleasurable driving experience for both driver and passengers alike.

  The comfortable and stylish car features the longest wheelbase seen in any C segment car, coming in at 2.71m, offering the class leading vehicle incredible on-board comfort. This extra space is moulded further by the “massaging front seats, airliner-style headrests, rear seats inclined at a 29° angle,” and “air ioniser and an advanced stereo system,” to ensure the most relaxed drive.

  Beyond the luxurious design elements, the vehicle also boasts a wide range of latest technologies. The DS 5LS includes engines like the THP 160 and THP 200 which come with “sequential direct injection, fed by a high-pressure pump, as well as Twin Scroll turbo compressors. Paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox, these engines deliver excellent performance to complement the styling of DS 5LS,” making them a top choice for any driver.

  The DS 5LS comes in nine different body colors and will be sold in more than 50 DS dealerships across China in March this year. Those interested in getting their hands on the model for themselves will unfortunately have to wait a little longer as the company has not revealed any release dates thus far.
