Vauxhall is gearing up to launch the all-new Cascada convertible in showrooms later this year. It will be the first car of its kind for the company, hopefully setting an exciting precedent for years to come.
The Cascada will sport a high-quality fabric hood that promises to resist even the harshest weather. Operating through a switch conveniently located in the centre console, the roof is aerodynamically clean and refined, making it practical all year-round. The model will also be available with an optional fleece that provides super acoustic and thermal insulation.
Beyond all of this, the Cascada will also feature some fantastic new gadgets in the cabin. It will come with the latest Vauxhall technology including an Adaptive Forward lighting system (that features 11 automatic lighting functions), a front camera system, lane departure warning, hill start assist and side blind spot alert system.
The vehicle will be offered in a range of powertrains, from the stunning 1.4-litre 140PS turbo petrol which achieves 44.8mpg (combined) and 148g/km of Co2 to the efficient 2.0-litre 165PS diesel engine that will comfortably achieve 54.3mpg (combined) and emit just 138g/km of CO2.
While the Cascada will be competing against cars like the Volkswagen Eos, Audi A5 and Golf Cabriolet, Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director, feels it will be able to fend for itself. He said: “The full-sized convertible sector tends only to be occupied by very high-priced cars from premium manufacturers. With Cascada, we're offering customers high levels of equipment, technology and luxury but at an affordable price.”
The Vauxhall Cascada will arrive in Pentagon Vauxhall showrooms in April 2013. To view our latest Cascada offers click here.
