Kia Debuts All-New Kia ProCeed

Kia has revealed the all-new Kia ProCeed with a new shooting brake design that looks to balance practicality and sports styling.

• Initially shown as a concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, Kia have officially debuted the new Kia ProCeed. It will be difficult to confuse the ProCeed with its predecessor, the similarly titled Pro-Cee’d, as the new incarnation changed the 3-door body for a shooting brake design. This puts the ProCeed between the hatchback and Sportswagon in the Ceed family.

  The striking looks of the ProCeed are sure to please anyone that wants the practicality of an estate car without compromising on style. At the front, there is the now familiar Kia tiger nose grille to tie the ProCeed to the rest of the Ceed range. The roofline leads to sleek rear-quarter with angular edges, lid spoiler and finished with a full width LED light bar.

  In terms of practicality, the lowered roofline compared to the other Ceeds has been offset with slightly lowered seating so there is no noticeable loss of headroom. In the back there is 594 litres of cargo capacity (compared to roughly 308 litres in the Ceed and 620 litres in the Ceed Sportswagon) and this can be increased further by folding the rear seats flat. There will also be a more agile feel behind the wheel as the suspension setup has been tweaked for a firmer edge.

  The ProCeed will come with two trim levels to select from - either the GT-Line or GT; whilst no pricing information has been released just yet, more details are expected to be released at the Paris Motor Show in October ahead of the release in early 2019.
