Why We Love The All-New Astra From Vauxhall

  The all-new Vauxhall Astra made its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show back in September and is now on sale in Pentagon showrooms. One look at the new Astra confirms that this is much more than your average family hatchback. It's a model that has the ability to really shake up the C-segment market in the UK. Now in its seventh generation, the latest model is lighter and more compact than ever, yet there is more space for you and your passengers inside the cabin.   The first thing you'll notice about the new Vauxhall Astra is just how good it looks on the road.   Standard fit features available on Design trim Astra models include 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome-effect detailing and a sporty rear spoiler. Also available across the range are front fog lights, front sill plates and electric folding door mirrors.

  Stylish, Comfortable Interiors

  Choose between five distinct trim levels – the entry-level Design, Tech Line, Energy, SRi and the range-topping Elite. With more room available in the new Vauxhall Astra, you and your passengers will get to enjoy a supremely comfortable ride. AGR ergonomic sports-style front seats are also available for those looking to achieve the perfect driving position. On Elite trim models they're available with seat ventilation and even a massage facility for the most relaxing drive imaginable. The use of quality materials is evident throughout, while ambient lighting helps to create a calm interior atmosphere. 

  Air conditioning comes as standard on all models, along with electrically-operated front and rear windows, and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. Optional extras range from dual-zone climate control and an adjustable front armrest, to convenient USB sockets located in the rear of the car.

  The new Astra comes equipped with an impressive range of technology features as standard, including the manufacturer's R4.0 IntelliLink system. This innovative setup comprises DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, USB sockets, IntelliLink smartphone projection and a seven-inch colour touchscreen. 

  Long journeys are made easier thanks to features such as cruise control with speed limiter, automatic lighting control and a multi-function trip computer. Clever ideas such as door-to-door illumination, which leaves the car's lights on for a short period when you arrive at your destination after dark, all help to set the new Vauxhall Astra apart from the competition.

  The new Astra doesn't just look good, it handles better too. It is up to 200kg lighter than the outgoing model and performs accordingly. Responsive and agile, you'll feel connected to the road like never before. The range of available engines are cleaner, more powerful and more economical. Super-efficient ecoFLEX technology is available for owners searching for higher performance, along with greater fuel economy and lower CO2 levels. 

  The 1.6-litre diesel ecoFLEX engine is ideal for buyers focussed on low fuel consumption, as it's able to return up to an incredible 91.2mpg combined. The petrol 1.6i 200PS Turbo S/S is built for power, and will launch the Astra from 0-60mph in just 6.6 seconds.

  Keeping You Safer

  Not only is the new Astra incredible fun to drive, advances in technology have made the car safer too. An Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), ABS brakes and hill start assist all come as standard with the new Astra. So too do driver and front passenger airbags, front seat side-impact airbags and full-size curtain airbags. A tyre pressure monitoring system offers additional peace of mind, along with an ISOFIX child seat restraint system.

  Select the Driving Assistance Pack to benefit from a front camera safety system offering features such as lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, following distance indication and a forward collision alert with automatic city emergency braking. Advance park assist is available too, making it simpler than ever to squeeze into those tight city spaces.

  As mentioned earlier, Vauxhall's IntelliLux LED Matrix headlight technology is also available with the new Astra. The system is designed to make driving at night safer by automatically adjusting the car's headlights between high and low beam.
