New Partner Van
The new Partner van sees larger payloads, extra safety and more innovation. The first van in its class to offer three seats (when you select the SE version), New Partner is an incredibly flexible choice.
This Multi Flex passenger seat also folds completely flat into the floor extending the load length and load capacity to 3m and 3.7m3 respectively on the L1. It’s available in two lengths; L1 Standard and, from September 2008, L2 extended. The L2 extends the load length by 25cm to 2.05m and the cubic capacity increases from 3.3 to 3.7m3. There is also a choice of three payloads: 625 kg, 750 kg and 850 kg.
Standard specification for the S model includes 15” steel wheels, electric front windows, ABS and EBA (emergency braking assistance), driver’s airbag, selective central locking and 180o opening rear doors.
The SE version is also available in the same payloads, but with HDi diesel engines only. Standard and extended body lengths are also available.
The SE specification includes electric heated door mirrors, left-hand side sliding door, multi-flex passenger seat and one touch electric windows.
New Bippa Van
Small on the outside, big on the inside, the Bipper is designed for city driving.
Recently named ‘Best New Van of the Year’ at the prestigious 2008 Fleet World awards, it has a 610 kg payload and load volume of 2.5 m3. Standard specification includes 14” steel wheels, ABS, driver’s airbag, asymmetric steel rear 180o opening doors and power steering.
It’s available in two versions: S – the standard specification – and S with Plus Pack. This version has added extras including remote control central locking with separate cab and load area locking and automatic drive-away door locking.
The Bipper also has two gearbox options – including for the first time on a Peugeot van an electronically controlled manual gearbox. The electronic control of this 2-Tronic gearbox can reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Expert Van
Peugeot’s Expert van was named 'International Van of the Year' in January. The award, the most important for light commercial vehicles in Europe, underscores the features and performance of the new compact van range. The Expert range offers two lengths of 4,805mm (L1) and 5,135mm (L2).
It has a choice of three refined HDi engines and is available with two roof heights – 1,980mm or 2,290mm.
The Expert is also available in Floor Cab form.

Applying the same gravitas as they extend to their customers in their choice of car, Pentagon are taking child safety very seriously, offering a choice of child seats specifically designed for all Vauxhall models to contain that precious cargo.
Revised child safety laws introduced last year make it compulsory for children under three years to be secured in a child restraint appropriate for their weight in all cars, vans and other goods vehicles.
Rear-facing baby seats must not be used in a seat protected by a frontal airbag unless the airbag has been deactivated, and in vehicles where seatbelts are fitted, children aged between three and 12 years under 135cm (4ft. 5in.) in height must use the appropriate child restraint.
Exceptions to this law allow children to travel in the rear and use a seat belt in a taxi or for a short distance in an unexpected necessity if the correct child restraint is not available, or where two occupied child seats prevent fitment of a third.
To help parents select the correct seat, each Pentagon branch has a special height chart in the shape of a giraffe to enable all children to be measured up in the showroom.
Each of three height bands on the giraffe’s neck corresponds to the appropriate Vauxhall child seat. The Vauxhall range of seats is designed to fit perfectly in all its cars and vans, is easy to install and come with removable and washable covers.

Pentagon are offering Vauxhall car owners an easy way to budget for regular servicing. The Vauxhall MasterFit scheme is designed to spread the cost of regular servicing through fixed monthly instalments, similar to the way that people pay their household bills.
The continually rising cost to motorists of keeping their cars on the road in a safe and roadworthy condition can be a worry, so Vauxhall MasterFit’s inflation proof, fixed price plan with no hidden interest charges is welcome news. Customers taking out either the Silver Service or Gold Service plan receive a free loyalty card entitling them to discount off selected accessories, discount off selected additional repairs, free tyre puncture repairs and free Vauxhall technical and mechanical update checks.

2007 was a very successful year for Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles with almost 53,000 vans sold.
Pentagon's Business Centres were able to share in this success story by achieving a record number of retail sales.
Their best-selling models were both British built. The Vivaro, built in Luton, notched up the most sales, with the Astravan (Ellesmere Port-built) coming a close second.
The all-new Corsavan and popular Combo were also a roaring success, with demand in excess of supply throughout the year.

On Wednesday 12 December, 2007, Pentagon are hosting a Motability Open Day between 10am and 2pm for their current and prospective Motability drivers at their showrooms (excluding Oldham which will take place on Wednesday 19th December).
Motability is the leading car scheme for disabled people. In the past 25 years over 1.5 million cars have been supplied, revolutionising many people's lives.

| Pentagon Sponsoring UCI Track Cycling Championships |

Athletes, staff and journalists will have no problems with transportation at the forthcoming UCI Track Cycling Championships thanks to Pentagon Vauxhall and Saab. The family owned car dealer group are generously providing Vauxhall and Saab vehicles for the five day event in Manchester 26th – 30th March 2008.
Britain will be defending the seven world titles that they won at last year’s championships in Palma, Mallorca. Bradley Wiggins won two gold medals in the pursuit and team pursuit, Chris Hoy doubled up in the Keirin and 1km time-trial and Victoria Pendleton spectacularly got a hat-trick of gold medals in the women’s sprint, Keirin and team sprint events.

Pentagon vehicles will be transporting hundreds of athletes from over 30 countries during the five day championships in Manchester. Pentagon are holding a special open weekend on the 17th and 18th November at their local showrooms, inviting qualifying employees and their families to save thousands of pounds on a new car through their company’s participation in the Vauxhall, Saab and Chevrolet Partners Programme.

| Pentagon Opens the door for the 207 CC |

The stylish 207 CC will be racing into the Pentagon showroom this March to replace the world’s best selling Coupe Cabriolet – the Peugeot 206 CC.
The 207 CC will be available at launch with two petrol engines and one diesel engine combined with two trim levels – Sport and GT. Both of the petrol engines have been developed as part of the co-operation between PSA Peugeot Citroën and the BMW Group and introduce technology not normally found in this market segment.
The first engine, and the one which is expected to be the most popular choice, is the 1.6 litre 120 bhp petrol engine. This engine has greater performance across the range than the previous 1.6 litre petrol engine fitted to the 206 CC and with a combined drive cycle fuel consumption figure of 43.5 mpg, reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 8% and 7% respectively.
The second petrol engine is the class leading 1.6 litre 150 bhp THP petrol turbo-charged engine first seen in the 207 GT THP 150 hatchback. This engine offers incredible engine flexibility due to its maximum torque of 180 lb ft available from an engine speed of only 1400 rpm and its maximum power of 150 bhp at 5800 rpm. The use of an innovative Twin-Scroll turbocharger, variable inlet valve timing and direct high-pressure fuel injection creates an engine with a remarkable balance between performance and low fuel consumption / emissions.
The final engine is Peugeot’s class leading 1.6 litre HDi diesel engine producing 110 bhp which is also fitted with a diesel particulate emission filter (DPFS) so ensures excellent performance and low fuel consumption with emissions of only 136 g/km.
The 1.6 litre 120 bhp petrol engine is available with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a four-speed automatic gearbox with “Porsche Tiptronic” sequential manual selection as well.
The new electric folding roof for the 207 CC has been designed in-house and is the result of Peugeot’s expertise in the design and manufacture of coupé cabriolets. It has been designed against a rigorous specification in terms of quality and operating durability.
With a similar operation to the 206 CC, the 207 CC roof, however, differs significantly in terms of convenience thanks to its entirely automatic operation – no more manual release handles. The only manual operation consists of pressing the control button once and waiting just 25 seconds, during which time the opening or closing cycle is completed; after all four windows have been lowered automatically.

The car that changed the UK convertible car market for ever was the Peugeot 206 CC. Launched in the UK in January 2001, the 206 CC broke new ground with regards to technology, manufacturing and cost. .
Now the Peugeot 207 CC is set to take over from the legendary Peugeot 206 CC.
As with the 207 hatchback the 207 CC shares the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group's No1 platform and the “Sport” exterior styling found on the hatchback sport models. Styled by the Peugeot Style Centre, like the 206 CC the 207 CC shares the same 2+2 type architecture.
The 207 CC will go on sale in March 2007 and prices will be announced nearer the date.

Pentagon Group are busily preparing for the opening of their new venture, The Pentagon Car Shop, at Claycliffe Road, Barnsley on 27 December 2006. In a bid to attract customers who utilise the used-car marketplace, Pentagon are launching an all-brand used car operation on a 2-acre site which once housed a Fiat dealership and a large used car operation. The Pentagon Car Shop features a re-developed showroom and 8-bay after sales facility; and will stock initially 200 cars.
An initial number of 14 jobs have been created, which will push the Pentagon Group headcount to over 600 employees. With a further 9 branches throughout the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Greater Manchester and South Yorkshire areas, Pentagon Group is well-known for its high standards of both customer and employee care.

The Vauxhall Vectra VXR is already one of the most powerful cars on the road,but that hasn't stopped Vauxhall giving it even more grunt.
New 2007 model year versions of the Vectra VXR have had the power boosted from 255PS to 280PS, thanks to a redesigned induction system, modified engine components and retuned electronic engine control software. These revisions to the 2.8-litre V6 turbo engine knock four-tenths of a second off the 0-60mph sprint time, taking it down to just 6.1 seconds for the hatchback and 6.3 seconds for the estate.
To match the engine’s extra power, Vauxhall’s engineers have also tweaked the chassis to give more dynamic handling. Modified spring and shock absorber settings and correspondingly retuned IDSPlus2 chassis control software is said to optimise the pitch, roll and turn-in characteristics to make the most of the increased performance without ruining the Vectra VXR’s impressive refinement. The difference between the normal chassis setting and the Sport setting, which is activated by the dashboard-mounted Sport Switch, has been further increased too, making sure that the Vectra’s handling can cope with the most demanding driver’s demands.
